Fellow writer, Lesley A. Diehl, is hosting me today on her blog “Another Draught.” Lesley writes a blog about beer, mystery, and writing. Although, The Man Who Saved the Whooping Crane: The Robert Porter Allen Story is a true-life mystery, it doesn’t include information about draft beer. But I did raised a Shiner Bock to my lips when I got word the book was to be published.
Below is a preview of my blog post. Stop by for the rest of the article and to say hi.

Prolonged serendipity, beginning almost twenty years ago, led to my book, The Man Who Saved the Whooping Crane: The Robert Porter Allen Story (University Press of Florida). I won’t bore you with all the details, except that my passion for whooping cranes began the first time I laid eyes on those majestic birds. It was at their winter home, the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge on the Texas coast.
